The Unique Challenge of Assembling Custom Theater Seating
With most types of furniture, the conversation about the final stage of the process is more about “delivery,” than it is about “home theater installation.”
For those of us of a certain age, who remember staying up very late on Christmas Eve putting together children’s toys, trikes and so forth, our theater seating and media room seating differentiates itself from all traditional static furniture, in that there is always
SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED!
Most traditional furniture, if we’re referring to a chair or a sofa, will generally arrive off the truck as a single piece. As you might well imagine, even a four-seat seating row, at an average width of 156 inches (13 feet!), is not going to go “on the truck” as a single piece, nor is it going to get through the door of your home or down the stairs to your media room.
From Jigsaw Puzzles to White Glove Service: Mastering Complex Home Theater Installation
We genuinely enjoy jigsaw puzzles, and many of our projects are highly complex jigsaw puzzles. While not a mandatory prerequisite for doing seating business with us, we offer our own White Glove Home Theater Installation services for every project we do, anywhere in the country, and it would be accurate to say that 90 percent of our customers engage us in this service, and are very glad that they did, particularly when they see how many pieces come off of the truck, with multiple electrical connections, which will ultimately become a beautiful completed seated installation. All we want the movers to do is get it into the room, and we take it from there!
We have so many examples of what this process looks like. In a recent installation, which ultimately would be considered a seven-seat configuration, arrived as 16 separate pieces! We knew from the outset that the entry door to the theater room was only 27 inches wide (???), such that we worked with the manufacturer to build the furniture differently, to be able to ship it in a greater state of disassembly, which we would then reassemble once all of the pieces were inside the room.
For our true greatest custom masterpiece (to date), it took us two full days to complete the home theater installation. As a business philosophy, we believe that the only way for us to know that our customers are completely satisfied (thrilled!) with what they purchase from us is to manage the entire home theater installation process. We are hands-on owner operators. Boot strap entrepreneurs as one of our business partners describes us. That resonates with us. Contact us to learn more about home theatre installation.
