Heralded as the destination for the largest and finest selection of luxury furniture in a single location in the world, we came to the 14th floor of the Merchandise Mart for the specific purpose of creating a showcase for best-in-class motorized luxury theater seating.

In that quest, it was our belief that we should partner with seating manufacturers who specialize in this category and have a better understanding of the unique and detailed nuances known only to true specialists, rather than manufacturers who build all sorts of other types of furniture and happen to offer a motorized recliner or theater seat of “some sort.” Fortunately, the specialty manufacturers were already known to us. As specialists in this category, their products are all but always sold by the same people who specialize in building luxury theaters, a business in which Artisan Electronics Group was already well immersed.

Every chair, sofa or sectional that is built by our manufacturing partners is built to order. There are no giant warehouses with crates of inexpensive black vinyl theater chairs stacked to the ceiling. “In Stock and Ready to Ship” is an all but mandatory promotional phrase to be competitive in this end of the category. At the end of the day, this market segment is completely commoditized, with chairs that are fabricated “who knows where?”

Our manufacturing partners could not be further from that categorical description. Even with the most basic of chair models, we offer the customer an enormous array of finishing materials options, with multiple grades of leather in more colors than the rainbow. Many of our customers want an upholstered rather than leather option, which we can also provide in every imaginable fabric, color or pattern.

Both of our manufacturing partners are American companies, with American pride in their products and service, and these two partnerships mean everything to us, as we all seek to combine our efforts to raise the awareness for a better theater seating option than that which current internet search provides.
